About

Ane Skak at the Stand Out Festival, London, UK

Storytelling is what unites us

Immersive Stories was founded in 2017 by Ane Skak as a continuation and expansion of her previous work with storytelling and journalism, building on her experience with editorial  management, production and strategy planning in film, television, radio, podcast, online content and events.

Founder's statement:

Over the years, I have produced large scale events that reached a world-wide audience, I have created cross media projects with a high level of user engagement, delved into investigative journalism, made traditional documentaries and won Danish and international awards along the way.

Previous positions include producer and editor at the Danish Broadcast Corporation, DR (2006-2018), Event Manager at Nordisk Film Cinemas (2005-2006) and Film Festival Director at the National Danish Film Institute, DFI (2001-2005).

Now I run my own production company and to me it feels like everything has come together. I enjoy the challenge of exploring ever emerging formats that provide new ways of telling engaging stories. This is the heart of Immersive Stories.

The big WHY, Elvis and a good network

Immersive Stories is based on founder Ane Skak's life long experience and her wide network of professionals in every field.

Immersive Stories build on the two perspectives that have formed my career until now.  After more than a decade in broadcasting, I have developed strong skills in storytelling, reaching target grous and concentrating on the big “Why”, while I developed my skills in co-creation and user centered innovation at Interactive Institute (Sweden). My approach is explorative and interdisciplinary.

I was born 1971, the year after Elvis performed ‘Walk a Mile in My Shoes’ in Las Vegas.

Being able to walk in someone else's shoes is a core value to me. I am passionate about creating stories and presenting content to enable audiences to see the world from a different perspective and form a personal connection based on empathy, engagement and understanding.

Immersive Stories collaborates with a diverse and highly competent network of professionals, including photographers, editors, sound engineers, graphic designers and 3D visual artist, who are always  close at hand.

For each production, I set the exact team required, whether it be a  high-end, big production team or a one-woman set-up.  Immersive Stories is dynamic, efficient and flexible; we deliver what you need, no more, no less.
